Ancestral Sanctuaries

This is a contrast publication about the signs and symbols used on the religious sanctuaries of the Dogon culture in opposition to Dutch (Christian) traditional cemeteries and sacred sites.

I imitated decorations consisting of signs or patterns from Photographies from Dogon Sanctuaries using supplies for handcrafting, that could also be found in Dogon surroundings (natural fibres, wood pieces).

I  took pictures of Dutch headstones, family graves and holy places intended for commemoration.
